We are so pleased with our daughter's tutor, Luke! Luke helped her raise her ACT score from a 26 to a 32! Luke was a knowledgeable tutor who was patient and had a great demeanor that worked well with our daughter's personality. He not only helped review content but more importantly helped her with strategy for taking the test, anxiety, and her timing so that she could finish each section. That was the problem the first time around when she took the test originally and had scored a 26. She hadn't used a tutor prior to that nor did any prep work and consequently didn't finish two of the sections. This time around she finished all of the sections and obviously did very well. We are thrilled with Varsity Tutors, their staff, and the ease of registration and good communication. I would definitely recommend them to others

Katie tutored my son for the ACT that he just took in April. He has taken the ACT twice and independently went from a 24 to a 25. After tutoring with Katie, he took the exam again and scored a 29! We hired Varsity Tutors back in 2010 when our daughter was vying to gain entry into one of Chicago's top magnet high schools. The ACT tutoring support yielded a 5 point improvement on the diagnostic and a 3 point over my son's 1st ACT he took back in April. My daughter enjoyed working with Aaron [the tutor] and felt like she learned a lot. It was pretty intense--I could hear them working through problems from the other room. She felt challenged by the material but gained confidence through successfully managing the difficult topics with Aaron's guidance and support. At the end of the last session with him, my daughter proudly proclaimed to me that he had given her a difficult problem from the GRE, which she answered correctly.

I hated math, but needed to pass Calculus. I was failing the class and was frustrated with the subject. At this point I decided to seek tutoring help. It took plenty of hard work and many sessions, but my tutor helped me understand Calculus quite proficiently. I made up for my failing grades and ended up with a 'B' in one of my university's more difficult Calculus classes.
