Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today the student and I covered synthetic division, operations with complex numbers, intermediate value theorem, graphing polynomials."
"The student completed homework involving transformations of linear and quadratic functions, working with polynomial functions and their characteristics as well as finding real and non-real roots of polynomial functions."
"Today the student and I worked on focusing our attention to her pre-calculus test. We met for a brief period today to prepare her for verifying and using fundamental identities."
"Concepts: - Tungsten (Chemistry Project) - Arcs - Inverse Trigonometric Functions - Presentations. The student re-organized the slide content of his presentation with respect to the verbal portion of his chemistry project. He also identified the remaining tasks to complete for his Pre-Calculus project."
"This past week, the student's class has been focusing on polynomials in both functions and graphs. She has to know and understand how to identify the terms, leading coefficients, degree of polynomial, and the constant of the polynomial equations. She also has to be able to draw the graph from given equations by analyzing from its zeroes (x-intercepts), end behaviors (as x-->infinity and x-->-infinity), the y-intercept, and multiplicities. I really feel that she has a strong graphing background. She was able to understand everything really fast and able to show that she can do a majority of her homework by herself. She rarely made mistakes on these types of problems. She said she has one more quiz coming up this Friday that will probably be about graphing polynomials. She feels somewhat confident on it already. I think it was a really good session to strengthen up her knowledge and boost up her confidence."
"Today the student and I worked on functions - definition, notation; sum, difference, product, and quotient of functions; composition and decomposition of functions . His attitude was positive and attentive. We looked over the way his online course was set up and figured out how to incorporate the textbook to the online mini-lessons. We also talked about how with patience and practice he could succeed in PreCalc."
