Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Student one: worked on "Mi ninez" (my childhood) project. Read and make corrections to the ten sentences she prepared. Make sure these are written correctly and that the sentences include everything the teacher is expecting from her students. Student two: Studied for test chapter 3. Went over present tense of -er and -ir regular verbs, the verbs "tener" (to have) and "venir" (to come), possessive adjectives, family vocabulary terms and descriptive adjectives."
"In this session I had the girls review the first seven letters of the Spanish alphabet. They did a really good job remembering and pronouncing them correctly. Then we added the next five letters of the alphabet and we practiced saying and singing them. They were able to easily say these too. After this we went on to learning words for feelings and emotions, such as contento, feliz, enojado, and triste. We made this concept fun by drawing picture people with these different emotions and then showing and telling what their picture person was feeling. They really enjoyed this and were able to learn the vocabulary successfully."
"During this session I had the student continue to practice using por and para. She completed two worksheets, and I asked her not to use her notes. After the first exercise she was able to remember more of the rules. For homework I asked her to review the rules for this topic so that she will do better on the next worksheet during the next session."
