Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed finding limits of functions, vertical asymptotes, holes in graphs of rational functions, and graphing rational functions."
"Today, we started working on material from the first test that the student missed. We will be working on material for this test for the next few sessions, so that he will be able to take the first test to help improve his overall grade. In particular, today we worked on properties of real numbers, sets and intervals, and exponents. We will continue working on exponents during a session tomorrow, and I will quiz him on the material we covered today. He made good progress today, and I am confident we will be able to catch him up relatively quickly."
"Sum and difference formulas for trig functions and solving identities using recently learned functions. Chemistry stoichiometry review, balancing equations and limiting reactant/ reagent problems."
"Today the student and I covered matrices, system of linear equations, substitution, elimination, augmented matrix, and Cramer's rule. She struggled with Cramer's Rule. I gave her an extra problem to use all three solution methods on the same system of equation to solve the problem, so she can choose one of the problems she already has. She got a B on her last quiz after our first session. The complexity of the material can be daunting, but I believe she can grasp this and more complicated math topics."
"Today the student and I went over reference angles, and their relationships with trig functions, as well as the unit circle in math. In physics, we went over work and energy, and discussed how some kinematics problems become much easier when using work and energy."
"We went over a few types of problems with which the student was having some difficulty, and we did a final review before her exam tomorrow. It seems like this session was very helpful, as she had a strong understanding of even the most difficult problems by the end."
