Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student's class is near the end of logarithms; today we worked more with converting addition and subtraction of logarithms into multiplication and division inside of the logarithm, as well as using the change of base formula a bit."
"Today, we were able to do a run through of the flashcards and also worked on some worksheets with math mazes and mystery pictures. The student has been doing well, but she is still struggling with basic subtraction and questions relating to large numbers. For next time, I'd like to try something new and work with her on the computer so that it is more engaging and interactive for her. She loves to play games and being able to visually see her score/improvements. I think playing on the computer will also help her get comfortable answering questions with a limited amount of time."
"We covered greatest common factors and least common multiples, and how to utilize them in word problems. We have never gone over this topic in depth together, but the student still did pretty well considering. We also did a couple worksheets involving adding and subtracting with negative numbers."
"We continued to work on percentages. We worked on understanding how different percentages can be expressed as fractions. This was then used to make solving for missing parts or bases easier."
"In this session, the student and I looked over her problems for the week. Specifically, we worked on the mean value theorem, improper integrals and particle motion."
"We reviewed trigonometry functions with angle of depression and elevation. The student struggled a bit with the angle of depression problems. On the other hand he made 100% on his last quiz."
