Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"In this session we finished up the chapter on descriptions and the "to be" verb. Now we have started a new chapter. This chapter is on family. We are learning about members of the family, the verb "to have". The student seems to be engaged in the topic. His homework is to review the new vocabulary and to do a few repetition exercises on words he forgets."
"We covered Greetings/salutations/departure expressions; reviewed subject pronouns; reviewed the colors; taught how to conjugate regular -AR, -ER & -IR verbs. Gave several handouts. The student took notes. Recommended a good Spanish dictionary, and excellent verb conjugation book & a beginning Spanish textbook."
"We practiced vocabulary today in preparation for the student's vocabulary quiz tomorrow. We reviewed out of her textbook. She had a good attitude. I taught her strategies for memorizing vocabulary words such as considering visual cues, creating silly stories around definitions, linking words with other similar words in Spanish and English. She needed help with a few words but overall did a very good job."
