Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student wants to continue focusing on logic games in our sessions, as he still encounters some games where he is not sure how to get started. We looked at several games and identified some issues with his approach. We also looked briefly at some reasoning question types that he tends to have difficulty with."
"Worked through two-factor linear game, three-factor linear game, and circle game; discussed overall strategies; review of previous strategies; plan for upcoming session covering grouping games. Student recalled skills from previous session well. Main issue is timing and working through problems more efficiently. Going to assign two problem sets for linear games and two circle problem sets for HW."
"The student and I discussed some general strategies for the exam and trouble areas on his past tests. We spent the majority of our time working through two logic games, introducing him to a simplified approach to illustrating the rules. We plan to meet again tomorrow. I will send him a practice exam and he plans on completing two sections before we meet at that time."
"The student and I practiced diagramming more logic games and addressed some confusion about logical reasoning question types. We ran into some issues with the content of the logical reasoning questions. Hopefully exposure to the questions will ease this issue. She has test sections and a drill to complete for Sunday."
"The student and I focused on logic games today. We went through a full practice section of 4 logic games and discussed rule strategies, attacking questions, and potential challenges with certain types of games."
"The student and I continued our discussion of the Assumption Family questions, including a discussion of formal logic-based solutions to the more challenging questions. After a brief overview of these strategies, we spent the second half of the lesson drilling assumption problems. He did very well with the material, though some of it was very challenging. The next step will be to answer these questions quickly and efficiently. I think our biggest win from today was his ability to translate unclear question stimuli into clear formal logic and then apply it to finding the correct answer."
