Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Worked on Verbal section of exam. Finished synonyms and part of sentence completion. The student really needs to study vocabulary on her own time, otherwise is doing well. Will complete practice test next session for homework and will begin essay writing as well."
"Tonight, we started with biology then moved to geometry. In biology, we went over her homework which covered the basics of protist evolution, cellular mechanisms, and physiology. In geometry, I helped her with various types of geometric transformations. I helped explain how to remember rotations, how to do rotations about a point other than the origin, and how to determine if three sides can make a triangle. At the end, I gave her sample rotation problems to solve. She seems to have an excellent grasp of both the biology and geometry material."
"Continued to review book on chapters on polygons, circles, and miscellaneous chapters from previous sessions. Agreed to meet next Thursday to take ACT practice."
"Today the student worked on a timed test for simple addition. She did well completing the test in less than 3 mins. She used the concepts of touch math learned in her last session. She is quick to pick up strategies taught and apply them."
"We worked on the student's history homework and then reviewed all her other classes. She also had a lot of homework and a test to prepare for on Thurs night so we came up with a plan on how to manage all the work."
"In this session, the student and I reviewed contractionary and expansionary monetary policy and fiscal policy. We also discussed supply-side fiscal policy and the effects of crowding out when government borrowing takes place. He impressed me with his grasp of the material."
