Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"In this class we reviewed vocabulary we had covered in the previous class including important construction terms as well as prepositions. I also handed out new vocabulary worksheets of important verbs and commonly used words. I have been making the vocabulary worksheets on a website and found out that the site allows me to email them the worksheets and even has an app to make electronic flashcards on smart phones or computers. We were all very excited about this! I will continually add new words we learn to this site so that all of the words we learn are contained within one easily accessible folder. After reviewing the vocab from I handed out the previous Wednesday, we made sentences together using the vocabulary we learned. The class then paired off and wrote scripts with their partner, role playing what they might say when on the field. Next class we will go over and perform the scripts. I felt as if the class really felt as if they were making headway today. They certainly understood how many more concepts there are to learn. We will work further on verb conjugations next class."
"In this session, I had the students review the first twelve letters of the Spanish alphabet they learned. They did a really good job remembering and pronouncing them correctly. After this, we also reviewed the words for feelings and emotions that they learned last week. Then we went on to learn the phrase for good night and a list of animals as we read a story, 'Buenas Noches Gorila.' The students enjoyed the story and the activity of finding the animals throughout the pages as I called their names out in Spanish. Then I had them repeat the names several times with me. They did a great job remembering most of the animals."
"We worked on building up sentences using the names of the days of the week, names of the month, using past tense verbs and building new vocabulary. We also practiced using the new words building sentences in question form."
