"The student and I went over intramolecular bonding and intermolecular bonding is today. For intermolecular bonding we talked about hydrogen bonding, dipole dipole interaction, and London dispersion force. For intramolecular bondings we talked about the ionic bonds covalent bonds and metallic bonds."
"We continued to work on logarithmic and exponential equations. He was supposed to have a test at the end of this week, but he said the test would be postponed until next week. He did tell me that he did well on his practice test and felt pretty good about the material. We continued to make sure that he was approaching the material in a way that was going to help him succeed. We talked a good amount about test taking strategies and tools that he could use to make his life a little easier during the tests. Sometimes he has a difficult time remembering what we talk about week to week, but when he gets on a roll, he really flourishes."
"The student and I worked on his assignment for Geometry. He was required to complete the chapter practice test from his text book in preparation for his test on Friday. He did very well except for a couple of mistakes he made. We discussed these mistakes and his overall understanding of the topic. He knows he made those mistakes from working too fast. I explained to him to slow down when he takes his test to ensure he does commit those same mistakes again."
"Today we were focused on the student's math subject. We picked up right where we left off and she was able to grasp the material better. We covered the basic understanding of y=mx+b and was able to move on to the topic of parallel lines. We moved on to the next section, which covered writing a linear equation given two pieces of information (i.e. slope and x-intercept). Since we just touched on it today, we will continue with the work tomorrow."
"The student was studying for a history test for the next day. He also had a math test the next day (according to the calendar we made). He said that he felt prepared for the math test. So, we went over the history study guide a couple of times, and he agreed to continue to study after I left. He also had an upcoming science test (next week), so we went over the study guide/worksheet that he had to complete before that test. He was pretty familiar with the material and able to easily verbally answer the questions. I left the study guide for him to complete before the test since we had to focus on the history material. I also told him that I would send his mom another practice test (in math) for him to complete for extra practice over the weekend/next week."
"We went over more exponents, and an article assignment on bullying (narrative, informative, and persuasive writing all-in-one)."
