"We did more exercises on "ser" and "estar" and vocabulary in preparation to watch a short film. We practiced conversation (oral questions and answers)."
"We covered a lot of things today. We went over the verbs gustar, encantar and doler and how to conjugate them. We worked with present tense for regular verbs and also a few irregular verbs. I also taught her the past tense of a regular -ar verb. At the end of the lesson, she gave me a tour of her house and explained things in Spanish. I told her to keep practicing vocabulary and to also practice the past tense of some -ar verbs."
"This being our first session, I spent half of the session covering material, and half of it getting to know the student. During the session I had her work on a couple of worksheets that dealt with reading and writing out numbers in Spanish. I first tested her knowledge on numbers in Spanish, and then had her read the spelled out numbers out loud and tell me what they were in English. She had a little difficulty translating the numbers when they were spelled out, but was able to translate them just fine when they were in digit format. When I spoke to her in Spanish she sometimes understood and sometimes didn't. However I made sure to encourage her whenever she did understand and answered my questions correctly. My goals for future sessions are to continue to gain her trust, grasp her attention, and help her understand Spanish when it is being spoken."
