Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed for the student's upcoming test. We also worked on writing, because this is where the student was least confident. We practiced the vocabulary and I answered her questions about when to use the verb jouer and when to use faire. We also practiced how to form the negative when answering questions. We found a writing sample in the book to use to practice her reading comprehension. She needed to focus on verb conjugation and getting more confident with the vocabulary before the test."
"The student and I did a comprehensive review of the futur proche, ER verbs and IR verbs. We reviewed his most previous quiz and went through the questions that gave him the most trouble. We then rephrased the questions and conjugated them with different subjects. With his book, we completed a few listening activities from chapter six that involved IR verbs and this helped him identify the correct forms. After working with his oral comprehension, we played a few games and speaking activities to test his comprehension of the material. I created a few flashcard match games and we reviewed the conjugations of the verbs that are still troubling him. I gave him a few worksheets last week that we will look over next time. This week, I gave him a packet of questions that will test his comprehension on early material, I want him to see what questions he can do without help and we will work from there. His speaking has improved immensely this week."
"We worked on her homework assignment translating a paragraph from French to English, and answering questions about comprehension. We also worked on conjugation of irregular verbs that she will re-test on tomorrow after school."
