Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"During the session I worked with the student on measures of spread, specifically range and spread. The student did not struggle with the work but benefited from having a tutor available."
"We worked on multiplication tables and the student practiced telling time today. I left her with some extra practice. Everything went smoothly today."
"The student worked on solving quadratic equations using the quadratic formula, also by factoring and completing the square. She then solved some word problems. She showed good improvement during the session"
"The student and I worked on understanding the concepts involved in comparing fractions (i.e. ordering lists from largest to smallest as well as choosing the largest of two fractions). To accomplish this goal, I drew illustrations of fractions, went over practice problems, and gave him independent practice for him to review these concepts. The student continues to improve."
"The student worked through a practice test on chapter 5, which I wrote. It covered FTC parts 1 and 2, approximation methods for determining areas under the graph, anti-derivatives, and evaluation of definite integrals and mean values of functions. The student needs a little more practice to become fluent in using the unit circle in evaluating trig ratios and to improve keeping track of signs when evaluating integrals. If he follows the step process I showed him, it will help in reducing the most common error, which is a wrong sign (+/-). He has a test on both Thursday and Friday, so I've advised him to work some more on the exercises in the text to finalize his preparation."
"I provided a final review on improper integrals. The student had a solid understanding of the concepts. His homework overall has improved significantly. He has his test today."
