"I've received Master's and Bachelor's Degrees in Psychology from Seattle Pacific University. I enjoy tutoring students in math and science and helping them understand problems from multiple perspectives. I believe learning should be exciting rather than frustrating, and hope to help other students find the same excitement in learning that I have found over the years."

"I was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship during my last year of college to spend one year teaching English in Germany. That was an indescribably amazing experience, in which I gained exposure to teaching students from fifth to thirteenth grade in a German school. I became invested in my students' success and found my work very rewarding. I look forward to the opportunity to tutor math of any level, standardized test preparation, or German."

"I currently attend The University of Georgia in Athens where I am earning a degree in Public Relations with hopes of attending law school following graduation. In Athens I have tutored local high school students in math and standardized test prep. In my free time I love to play sports and hang out with friends. I consider myself an avid athlete, and I have been playing sports just about since the time I learned to walk. Growing up I played just about every sport, including baseball, basketball, football, golf and tennis."

"The two which I try to isolate in my tutoring sessions are the fact that Math and Economics seem COMPLICATED and BORING to students. Math is complex and overwhelms a number of students. Many students get a problem incorrect before they even begin to work towards the answer simply because they freak out after reading it. I remember back before I learned one little precept by which I now live my life, I used to stare at some Math problems and think "How will I ever solve this, it is impossible!" What I didn't realize then, but do now is that Math is EASY if you split it into steps. Just like pro golfers will say "I just take it one hole at a time", Math ...

" I have been tutoring science and math for the past 15 years and love working one-on-one with students. I believe that every student can be successful if they have the information presented to them in way that is right for them. Over the years I have worked with students of all ages and ability levels. I think one of my greatest strengths is being able to find a way to relate to my students and being able to present information in a way that makes sense to them. I look forward to working with you soon!."

"My most rewarding experience was working with a program called Brooklyn College Now program geared at preparing high school students for college. "I am not satisfied with simply having my A students (gracefully) slave through each school day or having a client begrudgingly raise his or her C- to a B+ after poking his or her anemic brain repeatedly with a stick. For me, the biggest reward as a mentor is seeing the look of awe in their faces after kindling the fire that fuels their curiosity and inspires them to learn about the world that surrounds them (while still managing to boost them up to the top of their class by cultivating discipline and superb study and test-taking skills!). I take pride in knowing that most of the clients I have worked with can now see learning the way I see it; and I look ...

"Even after I graduated, I still continued to do small group teaching in a private education institute and some one-on-one tutoring. When I see my students are struggling with math, I am always patient and use different approaches to make sure they understand the material before moving on. I can also teach Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese too. If you are also interested in learning Chinese, that's a bonus! I enjoy tutoring, and with my experience, I believe I can be a great help!."

" The one-to-one sessions enable me to assess the learning style, strengths and weaknesses of each student which affords the opportunity to tailor the lesson to his/her needs and abilities. My teaching style is both nurturing and challenging; I expect my students to set high standards for themselves while offering encouragement and support along the way. I believe in teaching for understanding, which is ideal in a tutoring situation. As a mother of three children, I know the importance of the parent-teacher relationship."
