Tutoring review by Aaron in Glenmont, NY
We went over properties of trapezoids, rhombi, and kites to help solve for variables and angles. The student has a quiz tomorrow on this material and he should do well. He will have to remember that kites have perpendicular diagonals and only one symmetry axis.

The student worked on radioactivity today. He learned about alpha, beta, and gamma radiation and completed two work sheets. We then reviewed half lives. This was a difficult concept for him to understand especially because three were four different kinds of problems. He successfully completed a two page worksheet and then I made up about six practice problems for him to complete. He seemed to understand the concept after he finished those problems.

The student is nearing the AP Calculus Exam, so we reviewed a section of multiple choice problems he had completed. He had already corrected many of them, and we focused on five that were still giving him trouble. Once he felt comfortable with that, we moved on to a free response section, and he was able to complete the problems without too much assistance from me. He seems very prepared for his test in early May.

Tutoring review by Julia in Glenmont, NY
In our session this morning, the student and I continued to work on her reading and analysis of the Greek classic, Antigone. We continued to read through the opening scenes, and discussed various references that appeared in the text (primarily other Greek gods and mythological figures). We alternated characters in order to read aloud, and practiced summarizing the meaning of the philosophical speeches given by the chorus. For our next session, she is going to continue reading and answering associated questions, while making note of things that seem confusing, so that we can discuss in our next session.

Today, we went over the rest of the student's NodeJS assignment from class. She has a project that's due in 2 weeks, so we conceptually talked through the project. We also talked about another project that she has due next week, so we are going to meet again on Tuesday because she thinks that she will have some questions by then. I went over some GitHub commands that will be useful during her group project that's due next week. We also went over some GitHub structural processes that will make group work much easier and prevent last minute bug fixes. She seems very excited to be learning extra things outside of her classes. She seems to be doing well in her class.

Tutoring review by Jackson in Glenmont, NY
We began our session today by going over her homework. She did well on every problem expect for the sequence and function notation questions. Function notation has been a problem for a while, so we spent about 30 minutes going over it. We also did a reading and a grammar section today. She scored very well on both, which is typical for her. Our goal was to make sure that each section stays fresh in her mind.
