Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I reviewed for her upcoming test on Thursday, which will cover electrostatic forces, electric fields and potential energy. We reviewed how work, potential energy and electric fields are related. We also talked about how the distance and charge of test charges determine the electric forces acting upon it. We finished by reviewing positive and negative potential energy concepts."
"The student had a great session today. She had a few sessions about using the imperfect/present tense and the indicative/subjunctive mood, but figured it out pretty quickly when I gave her definitions and some examples both in English and in Spanish. She received an A on her most recent Physics test. She understands her current Physics unit (electricity) very well so far, and she completed her questions with no help from me. I think she needed the confidence boost at first since she kept asking me "Do I do this next?" but my answer was always yes. I left her with some problems to do by herself once she acknowledged that she did not need my help. The student also received an A on her most recent pre-calc test, and missed the first day of the new unit on parametric equations. I went through her textbook to teach her the missed material so that once she gets the notes from her classmate, she'll be able to complete her assignments on time. She picked up on the parametric equations really quickly and was able to do the example problems with minimal help from me."
"Torque, Moment of Inertia, angular acceleration, and rotational motion in general. Also worked with rotational energy to answer some problems comparing objects moving down an incline."
