Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed power, error rates a/B, and hypothesis testing. This material builds off the previous work on z-scores and applies it to the context of null and alternative hypotheses. After reviewing the concepts, we completed practice problems to check for comprehension. Participation: She had a good attitude. Notes: She is able to explain the chapter vocab in her own words. She understands the concept of accepting or rejecting H0 and how to set up the test."
"The student and I reviewed her homework from last week. She has the basic concepts down. We will make a concerted effort to focus on that going over past work week! Good job today!!"
"Conducted an overview of secant and tangent line angles as they cross a circle, chord angles, central angles, and inscribed angles. Devised which formulas apply to which scenario according to information given. Completed step by step calculations of each problem understanding when the measure of central angles, arc, or inscribes angles are important. In addition, devised methods for problem solving with formulas and variables related to the information in each problem. We conducted at least 25 practice problems with a short review of concepts. We discussed the importance of understanding when and when not to use the central angle as a reference and sometimes the parts of the minor an major arc in the formula. I established the better understanding by providing rationale the highlighted the how far or how close the arc was in relation to the angle being resolved which presented more clarity of the concept."
"We went over trouble spots on a review for his final exam. We primarily talked about limits and asymptotes, as it had been awhile since he had dealt with those and he needed a refresher. We also did a quick review of implicit differentiation. He seemed fairly confident, he just needs a little more practice."
"Today, the student and I continued our review for her final exam. We were able to complete the corrections on the remaining tests. Tomorrow, we will just review the core concepts of the entire course in preparation for Thursday."
"The student and I met today to work through more antiderivative problems, focusing on u substitution. Overall, she seems to understand this material well. Next time we meet, we will focus on final exam review."
