Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked on a review of her electrochemistry homework. She needs to remember a few key equations to solve for electrode potential and K. She needs to be careful with solving for E cell, and noticing whether the reaction has reached equilibrium or not."
"Today we did a titration lab. We had to improvise a little, since there was a piece missing from the titrator. However, we were able to achieve good results and good agreement with a syringe. After doing the lab analysis, we did review questions, focusing on weak acid and base equilibria."
"The student and I worked on a review of her homework problems for solutions (molarity), and organic chemistry, including naming compounds. We then tackled some problems from her book, and identified some key practice areas for her. She will try to get a test exam before Monday so we can go over that one together."
"We covered theory of oxidation-reduction reactions and electrochemistry. A big issue we covered is balancing redox reaction, and determining oxidation number for different elements. We are going to keep on with the content next class and also cover organic chemistry theory."
"The student worked on a review of converting moles to liters and moles to molecules. He still has some trouble with mole ratios and has to keep practicing on the problems. Overall, he seems to be improving, and it was excellent that he completed the homework I had assigned."
"The student and I worked on a review sheet for her chemistry test. The concepts we covered included finding the solubility constant Ksp or molar solubility x, writing the Ksp expression, determining if a precipitate will form, ICE tables, solving equilibrium problems, the 5% rule, writing the equilibrium constant expression, molarity, molality, calculating freezing and boiling points. She did excellently on all the questions. She has a good knowledge base in chemistry."
