Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, the student and I reviewed bonding and other topics in preparation for upcoming test. We also covered more math, including quadrilateral rules and proofs."
"I started covering Chemistry with the student. I was trying to figure out where she stood with the concepts. She was good with individual concepts."
"We began this session reviewing for the AP physics test the student is going to take tomorrow. We began by using the practice test supplied by the teacher, and we made sure that the student had a strong understanding of each major topic covered by the exam. The area in which she felt she needed the most practice was with complex circuits of resistors. I created a few practice examples for her, and then demonstrated a method of using a table to keep your progress organized while you work through the time-intensive problems. After a few examples, she and I selected one of the most difficult examples in the book and worked through it. Once we both felt that she was confident enough in her skills to do well on the exam, we moved on to Calculus. In this class, the student is working on rate of change and derivative problems as applied to motion: relating position, velocity and acceleration vs time graphs. We worked through some basic examples, and then in the time we had left, reviewed the most difficult homework problems assigned by the teacher."
