"Studied for Friday exam. Covered topics on electrostatics and capacitors. The student prepared a lot of questions and had a good understanding after our session."
"The student had a test last week, so this week we began to preview a new chapter together. The topic of this new chapter was states of matter. We talked about the different states of matter (solids, liquids, and gasses) and what those states mean for the atoms and molecules in a compound. We talked a lot about energy, highlighting the kinetic molecular theory specifically. In our time together, we were able to work through the material on gasses, liquids, and solids and work through problems for gasses and liquids. The student knows where he can find practice problems for the solids, and I told him he can send me any questions he may have as he works through them. He handled the new material well, but this is a very conceptual chapter and the practice problems reflect that. I suggested that the student spend some time taking notes of the key words and making a chart to diagram the differences between the three major states of matter."
"Test Prep: Lewis/Bronsted Lowry/Arrhenius Bases and Acids, Strength of acids and bases, Ideal gas laws, Ka, Kb, Kc, Kp, ICE Tables."
