Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed some regular and irregular verbs, plus vocabulary for a test. I provided him with several practice sentences to conjugate verbs in present and preterit, as well as vocabulary words."
"The student and I continued to work on her history research paper today. We worked on incorporating her research and analysis of the research into a mini essay due for her teacher. I see her writing skills increasing. She's very bright and makes connections very quickly. She's always a delight to work with."
"First, we finished up some daily chemistry homework, which was a review on converting between moles, volumes, and mass. Then, we continued to do research for his chemistry paper. He has a good start, and I feel pretty confident that he'll finish in time."
"Today's session covered mostly vocabulary that the student is required to do, which she did quite well on (she even did a few extra minutes of words). We then moved on to her history homework where she was working on the rulers of ancient India. I helped her finish what she was supposed to get done for the day, and we worked on the next day's requirement as well so that she is a bit ahead."
"The student and I were going to finish his FRQ's and review his migration assignment. However, he said his migration assignment was already turned in, and he needed help with Chemistry. We spent the remainder of the time working through the Chemistry web assignment. I stopped and reviewed some problems in more detail and gave him some extra examples to work on involving naming compounds given their formula and vice versa. He finished the assignment, and we did a few more practice problems since this material will be on his next test."
"Today, the student and I discussed his standing in his current coursework. We are trying to meet more frequently during the week to keep his momentum up through the end of the term. We are also trying some new strategies this week."
