"The student is studying the material in Unit 3, along with several verbs and expressions. We drilled numbers and drilled some dialogues. I then drilled questions and responses based on Unit 3. We covered restaurant vocabulary. Next week we will use the work book to reinforce the material."
"We prepared for the student's upcoming finals. We went through the study guide and test topics and identified what each bullet point would be testing, then gauged how comfortable the student felt with each task. We also spent time going over the questions for the oral exam and practiced some problems. As we concluded, I offered pronunciation pointers."
"Today, the student and I worked on memorizing a poem and reading comprehension. He seemed to catch onto the material very quickly. I used memorization techniques I used for myself in high school, and he now knows the poem by heart."
"The student and I began by looking over a reading about Pablo Picasso, and she answered some questions about the reading that were in the book. We then moved on to grammar practice with commands, using "Ud." and "Uds." She had written up a list of what one must do in order to complete a doctoral degree! Next, she read me a summary of the portion of the novel that we're working on. We clarified some points where she had questions."
"Today, we covered the article, definite and indefinite in their forms (masculine and feminine and singular and plural). We did exercises with the application of the definite and indefinite articles. At the same time, the student practice reading, comprehension, and pronunciation of the new vocabulary and the rules on the grammatical figure (the article). We also covered questions and short answers about the article using the interrogative words que, cuales, y cuando, already learned in previous classes."
"The student and I discussed tonight's Spanish homework. We reread a story in the target language and then completed various reading comprehension questions that followed. She also had to be able to write a brief summary about the story read in Spanish that had her review and practice the preterite and imperfect tense. She will finish the last page of the reading comprehension activities on her own."
