Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I reviewed three chapters worth of material relating to logarithmic properties. She asked insightful questions about the concepts and was able to recall and apply previously learned material to the current chapters."
"The student and I spent most of this session on confidence intervals both for means and proportions. He seems to be getting a pretty good grasp of the material but he is concerned about the amount of material that will be covered on the exam that his class will be taking this Thursday. He feels like he has an understanding of the material, but is worried about the multiple choice questions that his teacher usually asks which can be somewhat tricky. I guess that this exam will give us a pretty good idea of how much he has really learned."
"The student and I went over her homework that covered graphing and simplifying exponential functions along with how exponential functions are translated. Overall it seemed like she understood the material and concepts and did not show any real struggle with the problems. We also continued onto the next section (functions with e) which she hasn't learned yet, but she seemed to pick up on it quickly and it will be good to see the concepts before she learns them in her class."
"We worked on specific questions the student had from a practice SAT math test that she had taken. She continues to be motivated and have strong skills."
"The lesson focused on converting units in the metric system using a chart and interpreting word problems. In the beginning there were some issues working with the metric system. After creating a chart with the prefixes, the lesson progressed well, and the student needed minimal assistance. We were able to review all assigned problems, and the student stated he felt much more comfortable with the material after the chart was created."
"The student is doing a great job of not only showing the steps but also demonstrating an understanding of story problems. Keep up the great work!"
