Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I worked on engineering analysis problems that involved interpolation using Lagrange's method and Newton's forward and backward method. We talked about how to use the general formulas and write them for specific circumstances for the linear, quadratic, and cubic situations. We also worked some of these on the computer and will continue this more later."
"We covered a review of the student's past 4 exams for his upcoming genetics exam. It was on mitosis, meiosis, nondisjunction, aneuploidy, mutations, genetic diseases, DNA replication, transcription, and translation. He did well with some of the strangely worded questions and all of the older material he hadn't seen since the first exam. We talked about some study strategies and test-taking skills to use during his exam. He wants to do well on this test so he can get his lowest test grade dropped."
"The student had a couple of questions about the difference between gravitational mass and inertial mass. She asked some very good questions, and we worked through the problem successfully."
"We finished reviewing for the student's final exam. She hesitates on picking the correct statistical test needed, but in the end she understands. She's been getting 100% on the past couple of quizzes. Before final exam, her overall average is 96%. She is very well prepared to take her last exam."
"Today, we covered everything on both of the student's upcoming quizzes. In physical science, we worked on force, work, power and simple machines. In math, we worked on geometry of various 3 dimensional objects. He worked really well and had a decent handle on everything by the end."
"The student had some difficulty understanding Le Chatelier's principle. We went over his homework together and afterwards did even more practice problems to solidify his understanding of chemical equilibrium."
