"We covered vocabulary from Unit 6 by listening, repeating, sounding out, writing, and playing a round of Pictionary. Then, we moved into a speaking activity where the student synthesized speaking in the past tense with the vocabulary by discussing what she did during her vacation. Lastly, she read my fake post card and wrote her own, which we edited. She had a positive and enthusiastic attitude. I also taught her a strategy for learning vocabulary to sound out the word and look for cognates and clues within words to help her remember."
"During this session we reviewed the student's homework. She wrote ten sentences in the future tense and did very well, even with the irregular verbs. I then had her continue to practice both forms of the future tense with a few worksheets. She did very well, but still needs more practice so that she can conjugate the verbs much quicker. For homework I asked her to read the second half of a short story, and indicate all of the preterite, imperfect, and present tense verbs."
"The student and I worked through some of chapter 10 of our book today. It had about 4 pages of in depth review of the differences/uses of preterite vs. imperfect. It was exactly what the student has been needing. We took our time reviewing everything, and I tried to break everything down with as many examples as possible. I think the student will be referring back to that section a few more times. We will continue with chapter 10 on Thursday and do some of the readings."
