Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"I assessed the student's studies by giving her a sheet with different phrases that required her to translate previous and recent vocabulary. She did an outstanding job. We reviewed adjectives and she even memorized a commercial song I showed her, which has a more complex vocabulary--I was very impressed. We did comparisons using more than, less than, as [blank] as and she is showing amazing improvement. The student's teacher reviewed the past tense this week and gave her a list of time expressions that she needs to know. We reviewed them as well, talking about the tenses that require them. The following day, I stopped by her house and lent her a set of flashcards to practice and worksheets to study irregular conjugations for the preterite. I also gave her homework to keep practicing adjectives and I will give her a quiz at the beginning of our next session."
"We reviewed the student's midterm exam study guide. We covered pero, sino, sino que as well as irregular and regular preterit verbs. She wrote a short essay (timed), and we corrected it together. She's continuing to work hard and mastered the J group preterit verbs! She's got an A in the course overall."
"Student 1: Reviewed parts of the body vocabulary, "doler" and similar verbs, symptoms, and doctor recommendations. Student 2: Studied family vocabulary and descriptive adjectives. I sent her 2 ppt presentations with the material she'll be learning this lesson (possessive adjectives and -er and -ir ending verbs)."
