Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We continued to review momentum and impulse. We also covered trig identities and rationalization in preparation for the student's precalculus midterm."
"The student is actually in Molecular Biology II, which covers very similar topics as Biochemistry. We worked together last semester on the first section of this course and will continue to review and meet in a similar fashion. Today, we began to review lipid membranes. We started by reviewing his lecture notes and slides and then we went into more question/answer format. We discussed the importance of a lipid membrane, the components of a lipid membrane, touched on the fluid mosaic model theory, and reviewed different types of membrane proteins. The fluid mosaic model is the idea of a fluid/changing membrane that is composed of 3 different basic types of lipids and proteins. We discussed alternate pathways for protein synthesis and reviewed the levels of proteins structures. He scored well overall last semester and we hope to see similar, if not better, results this semester. He will continue to review his notes and lecture materials prior to class and immediately following class. We plan on meeting again this week."
"Covered problems in friction, gravitation, tension and centripetal acceleration. Made a lot of progress in acceleration vector physics."
