Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student had an assignment where she had to choose the present, future, or compound past tense. It was fill in the blank where she had to determine how to spell the past participle or future stem. I gave her a mnemonic to help her remember the past participles. We went over agreement with past participles and the subject when using etre verbs in the compound past. We also went over agreement with direct objects that come before the helping verb when using avoir verbs in the compound past. The student has a good attitude and works hard when I tutor her. She is going to make some flashcards this weekend. The student is waiting for the results from her last test. I will meet with her again on Monday at noon with a lesson prepared to help her do better on the next grammar test (future, compound past and present tense with irregular and regular verbs). This time, I explained the teacher's lesson and the textbook activities on this topic."
"The student and I continued with the simple future rule and focused more on the oddities of the tense and the conjugation of the regular and irregular verbs that have little changes when conjugated in the future tense. Then, I gave the student an exercise to do during the session related to the topic. She had some questions regarding what we have been learning which means she is following up on what she learns. A big conversation was held between the student and I in the beginning and in the end of the session talking about different things: school, activities, and home works. At the end of the session, I gave her a new list of vocabulary regarding the city."
"It was another amazing French class with the student! As always, we learned new words and phrases and practiced so much of the French we learned. She is doing beautifully!"
