Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over some of the problems she had with taking her online test. (Distance Formula, Midpoint Formula, Finding Points on the Line, and all concepts of Slope Intercept Form.) Will start a new session on Monday to review the test."
"Last night, we reviewed for the student's upcoming quiz. The quiz covered new sections that he hasn't seen yet, so most of our session was spent learning these sections. We went over 5.3 and 5.5-5.7 in preparation for the quiz and covered the basic information in each unit."
"Today, the student and I reviewed his math homework, biology topics, and went over Spanish vocab words. We did a couple extra problems in his book and he improved. He did very well in biology and Spanish. I made a few notes on his vocab sheet for words."
"We worked sine law and covered several applications. The student needs to do practice questions to solidify our learning."
"Today the student and I did a math review packet to help her study for her test tomorrow. We covered slopes, y-intercepts, functions, and more. I think we did good work switching between slope-intercept equations and others. The student needs to work on adding and subtracting from and with negative numbers. I told her to envision a number line in her head and move up or down the line depending on subtraction or addition. She definitely seemed more comfortable with the concept by the end of the session."
"The student needed help with a topic he didn't understand when presented by his teacher, the use of the law of sines and cosines. We talked about the difference between the ability to use the trigonometric functions, and when to use the formulas of the law of sines and cosines, specifically if it cannot be determined that a right triangle exists. We also practiced problems and used the formulas for the law of sines and cosines concurrently, to solve a word problem more efficiently. By the end of our session, the student was effective at solving these problems."
