Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"During this session, we went over formulas and identities the student needs to memorize and did a few problems. We have one last session before her exam. I feel that she was able to realize what she needs to work on."
"-Vertical Asymptotes -Function translation and reflections over the x, y axes -Domain and Ranges of continuous and discontinuous functions -Determining where functions are increasing/decreasing The student and I reviewed his past quizzes/pre-tests"
"Today we briefly went over the student's physics test (which she did extremely well on), and went on to cover polynomial functions and imaginary numbers in her pre-calculus class. We went over different methods for solving polynomial functions and finding imaginary roots, such as long division, synthetic division, remainder and factor theorems, rational roots test, Descartes' rule of signs, upper and lower limits of roots, and the fundamental theory of algebra. After covering pre-calculus, we spent a little time on physics, mostly dealing with the equations of motion for vertical projectiles."
"I first answered the student's questions about factoring polynomials. Then, we finished Section P.5 on factoring expressions having fractional negative exponents. Finally, we started Section P.6 on rational expressions. We covered finding domains and operating on rational expressions (multiplying, dividing, adding, and subtracting). The student's attitude was excellent."
"The session went really well! We covered a few topics on sign graphs and solving inequalities as well as some problems on limits at the end. The student seems to understand the material very well and seems well-prepared for her test!"
"I helped the student prepare for a quiz tomorrow. We went over graphing how to quickly sketch more complex polynomial functions and how to accurately sketch quadratic equations. We also went over imaginary numbers and solving and graphing imaginary functions."
