Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I reviewed a logical reasoning section he previously completed. We discussed his small number of incorrect answers. He then practiced two logic games focusing on deductions and efficiency. Finally, he finished practicing some more logical reasoning questions and he displayed a higher rate of accuracy."
"The student completed a practice test, untimed, as I had suggested, and did very well. She scored 24/27 on reading and nearly as well on the reasoning sections. Her only difficulty was with one logic game. However, once I showed her how to set that game up, she had no problem with it. We then spent a lot of time on reasoning questions, analyzing questions she had missed."
"We reviewed argument structure via role and conclusion questions today. We also covered the 12 flaws most likely to appear on the SAT and their potential applications."
"We continued to split our time between reading comp and logical reasoning this session, but spent a little more time on LR this time. We both agree that she has a better chance of improving her score on that section in the short amount of time she has. We talked through some more assumption, strengthen and weaken questions that she missed, and then really focused on principle questions, which I think she was misunderstanding a bit. I told her to start timing herself over the weekend on all sections."
"The student worked through a full SAT under time constraints. He scored a 164. Which is just under his starting goal. I provided written feedback to incorrect answers."
"The student and I worked on diagramming logic games. Once he gets started he does well, but we need to work on nailing down what type of game he is working on from the outset. We will continue to drill LG setups and time LG section practices."
