Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I reviewed all of his old tests and quizzes in order to prepare him for his midterm that is on Tuesday. This midterm will cover all of the material that he has learned this semester, which covers U.S. history from 1500-1865."
"The session focused on reviewing the student's past test. We went through each multiple choice question and reviewed the correct answers; we also reviewed his essay and discussed how he could improve it. I provided Titus with strategies for taking both multiple choice and essay based tests and provided him with some additional online resources for studying. Following the test review, we looked over and discussed the upcoming chapter and reviewed 20th century presidents."
"The student has a big paper due next week in AP US History regarding WWII. There's a pretty rigid framework for the paper, so I've been working with him on structuring the paper and what his thesis is. Plans for later this week include studying for a chemistry test and making a study plan for the AP US History test in May."
"The majority of the time spent with the student was focused on an upcoming AP US History quiz. The quiz was based on foreign policy around WWII as well as the New Deal. Together he and I created a timeline of major events during the era. In addition, both of us went through important leaders and actors that influenced the war."
"For this session the student and I focused on studying for his AP US History test which covers Chapters 39 and 40, from 1968 to 1992. He informed me that his test was scheduled for today and that he had not yet read the chapters. So I went over the years covered in his test and gave him a list of important events he should focus on. He also told me that his current grade is a 64 in the course. We are meeting extra days this week so that he can be prepared for the remaining assignments in the course and bring his grade up to passing."
"The student finished most of his weekly history homework on Ancient Indian civilizations this morning. We took periodic breaks to ensure he was absorbing the material. He did very well and by the end of the session, he was finding the correct answers quickly! He received an A (-0) on last week's homework assignment."
