Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today the student and I worked on a review packet, covering many topics, including asymptotes, even and odd functions, vertex formula, factoring, as well as how to graph complex quadratic functions and function families. Also, we took a look at limits and how to look at what happens to a function when x gets very large."
"The student and I reviewed and analyzed end behavior, asymptotes, domain, limits, zeroes, where a function is positive or negative, the sign chart method to solve inequalities."
"We studied for a math test on all trigonometric function graphs. He's prepared for the test and to write his work out. He should have no problem with the test."
"Tonight we worked on a sheet reviewing for a test covering this last chapter. Things we worked on included DeMoivre's Theorem, complex roots, parametric equations, transforming to and from polar coordinates, renaming polar coordinates, orthogonal vector projections, distance formula in polar coordinates. I reviewed copies of his homework that his dad sent me, and we went over some parametric equations from there, but mostly he did very well on that homework. This is a lot of using formulas and crunching numbers, and he does very well at that."
"The student started with math homework again after testing last week. We worked on inequalities, solving systems of equations, and some solids of revolution. We also reviewed algebra properties of functions and equations. We talked about normal distributions and statistics. She finished all the homework."
"In today's session, the student and I got through half of the mock final for her pre-calculus class. The questions cover material from almost everything her class covered throughout the second semester. So far these problems have proven to be tough for her, but she started to understand them better after we worked through them together. We are going to finish the mock final in our session tomorrow."
