Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student did a good job of remembering what we covered during the previous 3 sessions leading up to his test. We covered everything pertaining to volume and surface area and covered any areas of uncertainty that he had before his test Friday. He should do just fine on his test."
"Yesterday we reviewed the student's material for the unit so she felt ready for her test on Monday. She is getting the concepts down very well, but is in a challenging course so extra practice is needed to get an A. I suggested that she go back through the chapter and try the toughest questions to prepare for the test. She always brings a good attitude to the sessions and an openness to learning."
"The student and I worked together to fully develop her understanding of truth tables involving inverse, converse, and contrapositive. I was able to show her some simple examples that enabled her to really grasp the content of the day."
"The student is almost at the end of her circle chapter. Her homework consisted of finding arc and angle measurements, both outside and inside the circle formed by secants, tangents, and/or cords. She started the lesson shaky but, as usual, she was a pro by the end. We went over her homework, and then I gave her extra practice problems. She is coming along in math and is breezing through the circle chapter. She even enjoyed the more advanced problems I presented to her."
"The student's class has finally moved on to circles, so we finally get to talk about them. The first section covers chords, secants, and tangents as well as arc angles (arc lengths are reserved for a future section). So, we looked at those and discussed the assignment for that subject. He did pretty well on the topic. Because he finished the assignment a little early, we went ahead and looked ahead at the future sections, including arc lengths and sector areas."
"The student and I went over her packet on finding the surface area and volume of geometric solids. She did a great job answering the questions. She told me she didn't have to remember any of the volume formulas, so she used the formulas she found online to do the problems. She did a great job."
