"Today the student and I began working on math. I know math was her weakest subject on her report card, so I wanted to see where she was at. The first test I gave her was a sixth grade pretest, and she got 27/30 correct. I then gave her the state pre-test, which was much harder. She completed about a third of it, and we'll finish the rest next time."
"We began the session today with the student's English assignment to watch videos from two news stations and compare their portrayal of the NATO topic. We searched news websites, but were unable to find any appropriate videos, so the student decided to complete that assignment tomorrow when more NATO information has been released. We spent the remainder of the session reading Chapter 33 for World History and completing the corresponding packet. He was able to read the whole chapter and complete all of the pages for chapter 33 by the end of the session."
"We went over the student's Practice SAT test. She didn't have much trouble with timing, which is good. We went over most of the sections but ran out of time to go over the last two; we will pick up where we left off next week. She is still not sure if she wants to take the ACT, SAT, or both. We will continue to work on the ACT; I asked her to work on two practice tests this week."
"Did a little bit of everything today. I have her score report from the last time she took the ISEE, so I have a pretty good understanding of what she needs to work on. We will focus on Quantitative Reasoning and Math. Her Reading score is very good, and her Verbal score is quite good as well."
"Chemistry: Went over his Chapter 5-6-7 quiz and test, focusing on questions he got wrong. This was a difficult chapter for him, so we revised concepts in nomenclature, balancing chemical equations and oxidation/reduction."
