Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I worked on test corrections over exponential and logistic functions tonight. I also gave her a quick crash course on logarithms to help her get more precise answers when solving exponential equations."
"The student completed review problems of sum and difference of trigonometric identities. Re-iterated areas of focus for common errors. Completed review of completing the square, simplifying radicals, and factoring."
"We worked on some final review, but mostly finished reviewing for her make-up test on conic sections. We went over how to find every piece for each type of function and she created a formula sheet to be used on her test."
"First session with the student. We reviewed several topics from his practice final. He has some problems with Trig, so we started with a review of definitions of the functions, the unit circle, and periodicity."
"We went over arc functions in trigonometry, including how to use the unit circle to give answers with n. We then went over sinusoidal functions, including how to solve expressions algebraically using arc functions."
"Worked with the student on preparing for her Chapter 3 test on Logarithms and Exponent Functions. She understands it very well and just needed the extra practice."
"We reviewed matrix algebra questions. The student was having trouble understanding how to set up the problems and solve them, so we spent a lot of time with setting up and going through the problems very slowly."
"We reviewed for an upcoming test by going over homework problems involving the topics of exponential and logarithmic functions. By the end of the session, the student was able to solve the problems correctly."
"The student and I worked through his entire study guide / pre-test for his midterm. It covered a variety of topics from polynomials to logarithms and exponents, and equations of a line to finding the periods of trig functions. He plans to study more before Friday, as his goal is an A."
"The student wanted to finish her final-exam prep, so we went through any questions she had regarding the handout her teacher had given her. After addressing her problems, she seems to have had a good grasp on all the concepts. I made sure to ask her if she had any other prep-work or problems that she wanted to go over, and she said that she felt comfortable with everything."
"This was our first session. We went over questions the student's online problem set she had question on a couple of the problems. We focused on questions which introduces how to get the derivative. By the end of the session she understood how to do the questions and why she got them wrong. Overall this session went well."
"Reviewed the student's packet for the final exam. Covered all previous topics from double angles, to trigonometric proofs, to logarithms and exponents, to limits. It's a lot of material, but she has the foundation to succeed. I really enjoyed working with her, and I wish her well on the exam and in her future."
