Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Covered special triangles, simultaneous equations, symbolization and exponents. She is showing good improvement. I gave her a lot of material, and she plans to review to retain it. As always, she was fun and nice to work with."
"This session, we worked on solving linear equations (we'll be working on solving quadratic equations next time) and going over a practice set. The student got a lot of practice solving 2 equations with 2 variables and is learning tricks/shortcuts to answering questions on the full length test. For the past 2 session we've split our time working on basics and practice sets."
"The student and I reviewed the problems that we worked on from Monday again. We also did a few additional quantitative problems."
"We discussed areas of math and types of problems on the quantitative section of the GRE and strategies used to answer various types of problems quickly and accurately."
"Reviewed more practice problems. Discussed study and practice test strategy until the test date. Among topics covered: triangle geometry, medians, averages, and systems of equations."
"We worked on: what to expect on test day, on-screen calculator, permutations, combinations, probability, compound interest, simple interest, standard deviation, and absolute values."
"We reviewed math problems she had difficulty with and practiced some specific skills she needed help with."
"We practiced applying special strategies to particular GRE Quantitative problems like numerical comparisons."
"The student and I worked on math today. We focused on some trouble areas and really gained some ground. Well done!"
"The student and I met for our first session. We spent most of it working on practice problems that involved a variety of subjects including function, simultaneous equations, and probability."
"The student has made a lot of progress recently. He reviewed coordinate planes on his own and we went over his questions. Then, we worked on GRE type questions on circles. He was able to get through questions on his own or with much less guidance from me."
"Today the student and I finished going over her practice test and then made flashcards of math facts and strategies involving inequalities and permutations."
