"We discussed kinematics, which required a fair amount of teaching, since the student has not taken physics yet. Since he has not taken calculus and will not be taking calculus-based physics, we derived the kinematics equations from the definitions of displacement, velocity, and acceleration, using algebraic and geometrical analysis. At the end of the session, we discussed the future direction of our sessions. Despite never having encountered this material before, he really took it with aplomb, intuitively remembering to consider his units, and being able to wrap his head around acceleration and its units by the end of the session. We will discuss atomic structure and bonding in the next session. ["
"During this session, we covered work and energy and went over few topics on general chemistry. The student is already almost ready to kill this test."
"We spent the vast majority of our time during this session on Bernoulli's equation and fluid problems by completing passages from the PR physics books. The student was struggling at first with understanding the tenets of fluid properties and correctly applying Bernoulli's equation to each formula. However, the time we spent paid off as she was able to correctly answer most fluid questions by the end of our session! We also did a passage on gases and gas exchange, of which she answered almost all correctly except for one question which involved carefully reading the passage and pulling out the relevant detail."
