Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I covered physics from the ground up, beginning with the Laws of Newton, defining them both mathematically and conceptually. From there, we covered the normal force (including how it was generated). This was new for the student. We then used that as a basis for the discussion of friction. She asked me some questions about reading medical school entrance exam passages in general, and how she should prepare for the verbal section. This was our first session and she really took the time to understand it and integrate it conceptually. I told her to pull problems on Newton, work, friction, and energy, and to reach out if she needed further explanations."
"Tonight we covered Reading Comprehension and reviewed how to strategically read the passage and answer each question type. The student will continue to practice these before test day."
"We did mainly straight math today, including some difficult abstract equations and probabilities. Both students possess the ability to do the work, but now the next step is learning how to recognize which techniques work in which situations. We also did some sentence correction, and student 1 mentioned he'd like to see more of these."
