Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student is preparing of her upcoming biology final. The final will cover 20 chapters worth of material. We began the session by going over some of her homework that covered electrophoresis. Afterward, we covered two chapters covering DNA replication, transcription, and translation. We ended the session by doing various practice questions, and reviewing subjects along the way. We will be meeting again on Friday, and will be continuing from where we left off. Her final will be covering a large amount of material, and an extensive review seems necessary to prepare for it."
"We reviewed material from chapter 9 and 10, including acid base neutralization, calorimetry, and stoichiometry. We applied these concepts to advanced practice problems in the back of the chapters."
"The student and I met to do more chemistry work. We were able to review the first 2 tests of the semester. I left her with some gas law problems to review on her own. I also gave her some new problems to do and sections of the book to review for the new topics. Overall, she did really well, and I was impressed by how much she remembered."
"The student and I went through a review of a lab she had missed, which focuses on the solubility curves of various salts. We then reviewed for her upcoming test, focusing on gas stoich, ionic solutions, molarity calculations, and applying BCA tables to these."
"The student and I discussed how she did on her IB biology tests, and we discussed the problems she had with the testing material. She's also been having trouble with her IB history topics, so I refreshed her memory on those. We ended the session and decided to meet once more tomorrow afternoon to do one last run-through before her final test!"
"Today, the student and I worked on titrations. I taught him, step-by-step, how to solve a titration question. He understands titrations and correctly solved a question on his own."
