Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"In this session with the student we started by reviewing his previous calculus quiz, over optimization, and correcting mistakes. Then we primarily focused on physics covering the topics of momentum and impulse. We talked conceptually about the physical topics then discussed formulas relevant to them. Finally, we went over homework problems to reiterate the concepts."
"Topics covered today included conduction of electricity, kinetic energy, and energy-related calculations. The student was quick to pick up on these concepts."
"We did a review of processes and ideal gas law. We also reviewed limits and integrals where x approaches zero/infinity."
"The student completed her physics homework assignment for the week, which included the following topics: index of refraction, speed of light, single and double slit diffraction, constructive/destructive interference, diffraction gratings, and soap films. After working through these problems, she had a strong understanding of how to use all of the relevant equations for these concepts."
"We spent some time covering and reviewing torque as that was the next subject in line according to the teacher. We did some practice problems to ensure that she understands the concepts. We chose to instead start reviewing for the final exam. We spent time covering general problems and then found a problem area in chapter 5, so spent the rest of the time working on problems from just that chapter. She's looking good in physics and seems much more confident in her work!"
"Today we covered resistance circuits and went over many examples. The student was having some struggles with finding the nodes in a circuit. However, we worked on many examples today, so hopefully it'll sink in a bit for the next lesson. I would suggest he continue to practice reducing circuits until it becomes second nature, since the test will not be any more difficult than what we have practiced."
