Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student worked on English, World Cultures, and geometry (learning ratio trigonometry from scratch and subsequently scoring 100% on the chapter quiz)."
"Yesterday, the student and I worked on math and biology. He started the exponent unit, so we reviewed all exponent properties and completed his homework together. He has a biology test coming up, so we did some reading for that as well."
"We went over information obtained at conferences which did have some positive progress. However he needs to keep his binders up and not wait till the last minute to do things. We studied for his history test tomorrow and finished biology missing work. He has to get clarification from his English teacher so we can work on his poetry assignment on Thursday."
"I worked with the student more on Biology. We finished covering the material we hadn't gotten to yet. I did some practice problems on this material with him and had him take notes. He seemed to have a good understanding of it by the end of the session."
"Today the student and I worked on the next two lessons of her virtual school curriculum, which covered graphing, conversions and keeping track of units. She did a very good job with the order of operations problems as well as solving the word problems that involved conversions once I assisted her with drawing a picture first. I will continue to emphasize the importance of drawing a picture as the first step to solving a word problem in algebra. In addition, I had her create a list of formulas and conversions necessary for measurements in different units, which she should keep for the rest of her high school career. Overall, the student is progressing well with the virtual school and I am confident that she will be able to complete all nine modules by the start of school."
