"The student and I started by reviewing math multiplication facts with a game that he enjoys playing and is excellent practice for facts from 2-11. He is demonstrating increased fluency in his facts. We spent time talking about his writing and working on the key elements of the story. I introduced the C-SPACE strategy to the student which is a strategy for remembering the key elements of a story. We used story cubes and he was able to start developing his own story. He begins to show more progress with writing fluently in terms of writing clear, cohesive stories that have a beginning, middle, and end. He also is continuing to work on turning his creative ideas into a fully developed story."
"Very impressed by the student's progress thus far. Though his academic skills have certainly improved, the biggest change I've seen has been in terms of motivation and attitude. The Greek letter was great, both in terms of detail and tone. We went over a few grammatical things, but otherwise it was very well done. We continued our work with note-taking skills, with a focus on preparing for the upcoming Greece test, as well as the interim T-chart project."
"After reviewing previous work, we read and annotated a non-fiction article about cell theory. The student previewed the two short answer questions, highlighted or underlined key words and people, and responded with two paragraphs about scientists. We utilized the A.P.E. format for writing."
