"Went over practice test, discussed grammar rules, discussed expectations for final stretch before March exam."
"The student did very well on her homework! She is working very hard at this, and I love seeing her improve! We started by talking through the Essay portion of the SAT, which can be planned for, and I had the student start brainstorming which examples she will use while I graded her test. From there, we reviewed her homework. She scored a 520-600 on Math (up from the 420-530 on her PSAT!). We spent the bulk of our time going over the tricky, higher-level math, which the student could usually see once we started working on the problem. She caught several of her own mistakes and took good notes of the other problems. We then worked on the Reading section, which is 600 to 680 right now (PSAT: 530- 630). The student had more problems with vocabulary than with the actual passages, so we will work on memorizing more "big" words over the next few weeks. Finally, we looked at her English section, which is about 600-800, depending on her essay (PSAT: 520-800). She had a few grammar errors to correct, and we will focus more on essays next week. The student is doing great, and she is improving each week. I expect the sharp slope of score improvement to taper off, but if she keeps working steadily, I know she can get to the high 600s or 700s on every section. For homework, she needs to do Test #8 and finish her brainstorming."
"Tonight the student and I went through a practice test and a few sections he had done. He's working hard and making reasonable progress."
