Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"I helped the student prepare for an upcoming test. We reviewed ER/IR in the present, preterite and imperfect tense. We also covered expressions with the verb tener."
"Today we intensified the rigor of foundational review. For numbers, we practiced by doing elementary math problems both orally and written. We held conversations to cover key vocabulary and expanded upon our conversations to include some "because" statements. We placed more of an emphasis on using complete sentences orally to practice conjugating. The student continues to strengthen her ability to write down what she hears accurately with little intervention in spelling. We practiced the vowel sounds with and without accents. Then we applied our practice to reading a news article that included a lot of our common verbs and food vocabulary. We read it aloud several times and focused on vowel sounds. We also learned new vocabulary by using context clues. For extra practice, she will read the second paragraph out loud and practice her pronunciation by stressing vowel sounds. She will also highlight words she already knows and try to learn new vocabulary by using context clues."
"The student greatly improved on his understanding of when to use and when not to use the subjunctive tense. He also showed signs of improvement for correctly conjugating the verbs."
