Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We read two chapters of the student's novel and routinely checked for comprehension. We also reviewed this week's vocab from her class, and reinforced her understanding/grasp of the words through a conversation in Spanish. We discussed a new meeting for next week as well."
"In this first session I was able to know the student's goals and also her level in Spanish. We have been talking in Spanish about different subjects and we practiced the present simple. She needs help with grammar and specially with verbs tense in Spanish. In our next session I will give her some exercises to practice present simple."
"The student has a test this coming week on the vocabulary portion of the chapter about trains. We did some vocabulary exercises provided by the textbook to brush up. Then I gave him vocabulary words that he then had to use in a question and a sentence. With the exception of some minor grammatical errors, he completed this exercise quite successfully. This session was a bit more of him working independently and then I would check his work, but I think it was good preparation for the test."
"The student and I reviewed what we covered last session and worked on numbers and some new phrases as well. I left her with homework to study her notes and to watch a video I showed her to review her numbers."
"We learned how to conjugate the reflexive verbs in the first person of the singular, affirmative and negative sentences. First I explained to them the theory and then they did exercises using some verbs of the daily routine. They are going to have extra practice so they can really memorize the verbs."
"We reviewed verbs in preterite and practiced writing with verbs in preterite. We also went over the body parts, and practiced conversation and dictation."
