Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I worked through a test review for his upcoming exam. We covered a variety of introductory topics, such as transformations of graphs, piece-wise functions, finding and interpreting domain and range, and difference quotients."
"As the student and I got acquainted, I helped him with his homework over vectors and dot products, including determining the angle between vectors and finding resultant combined vectors. He did not immediately take to the concepts, but when I explained the processes involved in detail, his comprehension appeared to improve greatly."
"Worked with the student on dimensional analysis/unit conversion in her chemistry packets. Went ahead and introduced topics in chapter two of her precalculus textbook."
"We worked a lot on trigonometry. We graphed sin/cos functions. We also worked on trig identities. We then worked on word problems related to sin and cos functions. The student is really smart and a great learner. She just needed a few tips before her exam!"
"Since she is going to be having an exam soon, the student wanted to have a review session to go over some concepts she is still having a little trouble with. If she can avoid making minor mistakes, I am confident that she will do well on her exam."
"We continued to practice using the various trigonometric identities to simplify and solve trig expressions. The student is doing well using the Pythagorean identity for sine and cosine squared, and she is getting better at knowing when to use the cosecant and secant versions. She is also getting better at recognizing when to not convert everything into sines and cosines. Most of what is giving her trouble is remembering the algebra of working with fractions and factoring polynomials, so we have tried to emphasize those techniques as we work through problems."
