Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We went over her chapter on Mendelian Genetics. We then spent some time reviewing for her midterm coming up on 31October."
"Continued review of old material. Reviewed elevator mechanics and pulley systems. Requested additional information from teacher's plan."
"We covered DNA replication in depth. The student is now able to draw the entire process. Specific attention was paid to leading strand and Okazaki fragments. We also reviewed translation."
"We went over two problems the student was having difficulty with. The first problem involved stoichiometry. She had yet to go over stoichiometry in class, so we did a brief lesson on the general rules of stoichiometry and how to convert from one unit of measurement to another. She seemed to understand the concept fairly well after my explanation. The second problem we went over involved percent composition. Though she had yet to go over percent composition, telling her what these problems were similar to and doing a brief review helped her to understand how to find the percent composition. She was able to do 3/4 examples on her own (the first one, we walked through together)."
"We discussed evolution, fossils, Lyell and Hutton, Lamarck, Darwin, natural selection, artificial selection, adaptations, and genetic drift. We also discussed some methods to continue study for her exam."
"Today, I looked over the practice AP physics exams that are on the website. Specifically, we looked over practice exam 7. Some of the questions were on topics that she has not yet covered in class, but we looked over the ones that she could do. I will send her more practice exams to try."
