Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today, we spent most of our time reviewing present tense verb changes. We will need to continue to do this in the future as well so that the students can get used to conjugating verbs. Student 1 is doing especially well at verb conjugations. We also went over some new vocabulary, which they are learning well. They should continue to practice during the upcoming week, but they are doing well."
"The student and I continued to work on conjugating the past tense in Spanish. We worked on er/ir verbs and time expressions to improve his ability to narrate past events. He and I talked in Spanish for over 15 minutes as I asked him questions about events in his life in the recent past."
"The student told me more about her background with languages and why she wants to learn Spanish. We started out with pronunciation, and moved on to learn introductions, questions, numbers, and telling time. Next week, we will review what we covered this week and move on to new material. She seemed very willing and open to learn!"
"This was my first session with the student. I helped him with memorization and pronunciation for Spanish."
"The student just had his Spanish exam this past week and he said he thought it went well. Today we got a head start on the next chapter. We learned all the new vocabulary about technology. He wrote down all of the new words and their translations and we read the sentences/ paragraphs that went along with the new chapter to see the words used in context. We then did about 4 exercises in the book working with the new vocabulary and 2 exercises reviewing preterite/ imperfect. It was a very productive session."
"The student is quite a bright and intelligent lady, a high school freshman. She is preparing for a final semester test and we went over the material that is assigned to the test. We covered regular verbs, pronouns, adjectives, qualitative and quantitative questions. I requested her to show me the notes of her Spanish class."
