"Did the student's Geometry homework which was the chapter review. He seemed to remember all the concepts well. The student is allowed to bring a flashcard with notes for his test so we wrote down a few definitions and drew a couple figures to help him out with the shaky bits."
"Went over conditional statements. The student already had a good grasp of the topic, but we did some extra practice breaking down biconditional statements into the conditional and converse. After some practice, we reviewed angle addition postulate to keep him sharp."
"The student and I worked on factoring quadratic equations and he showed great proficiency with the homework problems. He recently took an exam that included material that he learned before we resumed tutoring and he scored a 71. After discussing test corrections, I am confident that the student should score well on his retest. Moving forward, I told the student that he needs to be sure to show all of the written steps for his answers and to pace himself."
"We went over his notes and his review. We covered the unit circle as well as being able to identify angles greater than 360 degrees and to write their measure in radians. The student has a test on Friday which he should be ready for."
"We discussed organization and study habits for the first hour today. We think that he needs to get an organizer, a calendar for some organization. We then worked through his new lesson and talked about ways to study in order to perform better on exams and quizzes."
"We went over some terms that the student had learned in class, then worked through her homework assignment. The assignment included pseudo-proofs, using the distance formula, and some review from previous sections. We also went over her recent test that she got back and we reviewed. We also had some discussion regarding college and standardized tests that she will be taking soon."
"We covered triangle congruence theorems. We also worked on proof writing. We will continue to work on this subject."
"The student did not have any homework to review for this session, but he did tell me there was a chapter review test coming up in the next week or so, so we covered the chapter review. His class is covering biconditional, converse and inverse statements, as well as problem solving properties, so we spent most of the session covering that. I feel confident with his problem solving capabilities."
"We covered graphing quadratics using different forms of the equation. There was a big increase in the score for her last quiz! She seems to be grasping the material much easier now than she was at the beginning of the school year."
"The student and I covered transformations of figures in Euclidean space. This included reflections across a line and translations in a certain direction. For the most part he was following the concepts very well but he might have a little trouble visualizing what the resulting figure should look like after a certain transformation. However after going through several examples he was able to perform most transformations correctly."
"We went over a test the student got back and discussed the questions she got wrong. We went over vocabulary terms that were on the test. I answered questions the student had about isosceles and equilateral triangles. Then we finished her homework and looked at questions in the book involving isosceles triangles."
"The student has a test later this week, so we reviewed the areas her teacher said would be relevant. We largely focused on parametric equations, and how to translate them into a slope/intercept equation. We also graphed examples based on the word problems from her handout. She needs to focus on avoiding sloppy arithmetic and algebra errors, but hopefully a better understanding of the topics will help ease those away."
